Atlantic Re:think is on the lookout to meet talented people to collaborate with our creative marketing team on a freelance basis. We are particularly interested in identifying individuals with the frontend development skills to tackle projects creating content for campaigns, using technology that pushes the limits of what’s possible. 

The Atlantic is a digital-first media company with over 160 years of history and 36 million readers a month. Re:think is The Atlantic’s creative marketing studio: we are a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, and QA engineers who build creative and engaging products that showcase The Atlantic’s journalism. We use a wide range of technologies, and we are actively evaluating new ways to improve our workflow and products. As a team, we value curiosity and willingness to learn over specific technical experience.

We are looking for individuals who have the following skills and experience:

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
• Passion for design and creativity
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Must be a self-starter and able to work remotely

Projects will be comprised of assignments such as: 

• Design and develop visually appealing and interactive web and mobile applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Collaborate with project managers and designers to bring their creative visions to life through code
• Debug and troubleshoot coding issues and provide solutions to improve webpage performance
• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and driven individual to work on interesting and meaningful projects on a freelance basis. Work will be contracted-for on a project-by-project basis, with specific deliverables and a set deadline for completion. Compensation will be paid on a project basis – at the minimum flat rate of $1,500.00 per project to a maximum flat rate of $6,500.00 per project, commensurate with skills, experience, and project complexity.
